My name is Aliya. I graduated from McGill University in 2024 and completed high school in Montreal at Lower Canada College.
I’ve been working in education for nearly a decade, supporting students from elementary to high school across a variety of subjects. My approach focuses on clear communication, building confidence, and developing strong, sustainable learning habits. I also work with students to strengthen executive functioning skills like time management, organization, and goal setting.
I’m passionate about helping students feel confident and capable in their learning. With the right support, I believe every student can reach their full potential.

I created Mindful Learning as a platform to introduce myself and share my work with learners and families. I envision a world where every individual is empowered to actively engage in their learning journey, grow with confidence, and build a lifelong love for education. My goal is to offer personalized support that meets each learner’s unique needs and to create the best possible learning experience. I hope to fuel curiosity, foster self-belief, and help learners develop the skills they need for future success.

I believe that with the right tools and support, every learner can reach their full potential. My approach is rooted in care, open communication, and a genuine commitment to helping each student grow academically and personally. I focus on building confidence, nurturing individual strengths, and creating supportive environments where learners feel safe, motivated, and heard. Education is more than academics—it’s about long-term growth, resilience, and discovering one’s own path.

I offer one-on-one tutoring for students from elementary through high school. Whether in person or online, my sessions are designed to support individual needs, strengthen understanding of concepts, prepare and study for exams, and boost academic confidence. I tailor each session to the student’s goals and learning style, ensuring that they feel supported every step of the way.

I work with students who might feel overwhelmed or unsure how to manage it all: the homework, the deadlines, the studying, and everything in between. Together, we build real-life skills like time management, planning, and organization. I help students break down big tasks, stay on top of assignments, and create routines that actually work for them.

I support families who are homeschooling by offering personalized guidance, engaging resources, and structured lesson plans. Whether it’s helping design a curriculum or introducing diverse learning activities, I aim to make homeschooling enriching, flexible, and aligned with your child’s educational needs and interests.

One of my dreams is to create a program just for little learners—something fun and hands-on to help build early reading and math skills. I want to introduce foundational concepts in a way that feels playful and engaging, using activities that spark curiosity and a love for learning. Whether it's through a book club for early readers or a numbers club that explores basic math, my goal is to help kids feel confident and excited about learning from the very beginning. It’s something I’m really looking forward to bringing to life in the near future.

Sometimes it’s just easier to come get help with a few friends—and that’s exactly why I offer small group learning. These sessions give students the chance to work alongside their peers in a relaxed and supportive setting. Whether it's reviewing for a test, working through tricky homework, or just needing a space to ask questions, small group learning creates a space where everyone can share ideas, build confidence, and learn from one another. It’s a more personal and collaborative approach that makes learning feel less intimidating and a lot more enjoyable.

One of my long-term goals is to offer support to adults who want to improve their reading and comprehension skills. I believe learning never stops, and I hope to one day launch a community-driven program that helps adults feel confident and empowered through literacy.

I’m also passionate about integrating movement, mindfulness, and wellness into learning. I hope to introduce yoga-inspired sessions that support students’ emotional and physical well-being. These sessions would aim to help learners feel more focused, balanced, and relaxed—benefiting both body and mind.

I help young children transition smoothly into kindergarten and grade one by building foundational skills in reading, writing, and basic math. My focus is on creating a warm, engaging space where children can gain confidence and feel ready for the structure of a formal school setting.
